Three to follow from the Weekend: 15th, 16th & 17th November…
Cheltenham’s Paddy Power Gold Cup meeting firmly tucked away in the form book ✅
Which means it’s time to once again fire up the weekly FREE NTF Blog posts…
‘Three to follow from the weekend’
For those of you that are new to the NTF Blog, and are maybe not familiar with these posts, the info is taken from my own NTF Weekend Notes that are posted to full NTF members at the start of each week, an in-depth look at the weekends racing that just slid itself into the form book, stacked with thoughts, pointers, angles, trends and plenty more… to help NTF members dig out profitable plays in the weeks and months ahead…
The latest copy of NTF Weekend Notes ran to a tasty eight pages and the following three horses are just a small sample of the info that was included in the members guide…
p.s. Members of the FREE NTF Service got the FULL copy of the NTF Weekend Notes via email this morning… if you want the full copy, and are not yet on the email list, then head to the following page>>>
Three to follow from the weekend: 15th, 16th & 17th November…
.
FASOL (P Nicholls)
4th in a Class 3 Novice Handicap Hurdle – 4.00 Cheltenham (Friday 15th)
A better effort than it looked, with this race very much playing to those that were held up/sat mid-division… the first NINE home returning in-running comments of…
HU | Mid Div | HU | FR/CP | HU | Mid Div | HU | HU | HU
…FASOL being the exception in the first nine home, with his FR/CP positioning…
He needs to sharpen up his jumping but this was only his third run over Hurdles and he’s also likely to come on for this first run for 146-days… so he’s worth keeping on the radar as he’s surely better than his OR 108 mark… a step back up to 2m4f/5f may be ideal (although not necessarily essential)…
.
PLANNED PARADISE (C Williams)
3rd in a Class 3 Am Jockey’s Handicap Chase – 1.10 Cheltenham (Saturday 16th)
A solid effort under his Prime Conditions, which now stand at…
Handicaps | OR 113 or less | NO Headgear | DSLR 16-30 = 3231121 (3/7, 3p – all 3 career wins)
…and he may well have managed to fight out for the win here had he not pecked on landing at the last… he’s worth looking out for under similar conditions and holds Dec-Jan form of 12472 (1/5, 2p)… so he can go well during the deep mid-winter months…
.
FUGITIF (R Hobson)
5th in the Paddy Power Gold Cup – 2.20 Cheltenham (Saturday 16th)
Ran like he was maybe needing this first run of the season, which is a potential as he’s now 1/5, 1p on seasonal debut… he should go down a little for this run and that would put him on a bit more of a workable mark (went down 2lbs from OR 152 to OR 150)…
…he’s worth looking out for under the following Prime Conditions…
Handicaps in Nov-March | NO Headgear | OR <152 = 122124111 (5/9, 3p – all 5 career wins)
Also worth noting that this was his first run off a wind-op and his trainer – Richard Hobson – is 0/21, 3p with his runners on first run off a wind-op, improving to 4/18, 2p on their second run off a wind-op and 9/49, 9p on their 2nd, 3rd & 4th runs combined off a wind-op… so his runners do seem to improve for that first outing after having their wind done…
He won the December version of this last season (December Gold Cup) after finishing 4th in this (Paddy Power Gold Cup) on seasonal debut… and that will likely be a target for him again…
I’ll be back next Tuesday with the next installment of… ‘Three to follow from the weekend’…
