Three to follow from the Weekend: 13th, 14th & 15th December…
I’m on ‘taxi’ duty for Mrs NTF today… so I’ve no time for any pre-waffle in this week’s post ☹️
So… without further ado…
…here’s the latest ‘Three to follow from the weekend‘…
Three to follow from the weekend: 13th, 14th & 15th December…
.
SO SAID I (Joe Tizzard)
2nd in a Class 3 Mares’ Handicap Chase – 1.13 Cheltenham (Saturday 14th Dec)
Is handicapped to be competitive right now off her mark of OR 109 and she should be worth keeping on the radar for coming starts…
I have PC for her of…
OR 117 or less | 2+ seasonal starts | Nov-March | tracks with undulations = 2B1311412 (4/9, 3p – all 4 career wins)
…figures which improves to…
211112 (4/6, 2p – all 4 career wins)
…when you only consider her against her own sex…
.
DISCO ANNIE (Rebecca Menzies)
2nd in a Class 4 Novices’ Handicap Chase – 12.25 Carlisle (Sunday 15th Dec)
Jumped and traveled really well for most of this contest (her Chase debut) and she took to the larger obstacles in fine style… her 2 wins to date have come over 2m1.5f so this 2m trip was probably a little on the sharp side for her, but the quicker pace they were tracking along at will have helped the mare sharpen her jumping up plenty and there was essentially a lot to like about the effort…
I’d also be inclined to mark the effort up a little on the bare form as her jockey – Nathan Moscrop – appeared to stop riding momentarily between the last two fences as he looked to sort one of his irons, and that was probably enough to allow the winner to get away and poach a big enough advantage for the win (or it was at least enough to stop DISCO ANNIE laying down a proper challenge for the win)…
She’s by COURT CAVE and his offspring do improve for their first spin over fences…
9% S/R on Chase debut compared to 15.5% S/R on second Chase start
…stats that tighten up plenty when the second run meets with the following…
Court Cave IRE bred offspring in Chases at UK tracks | 2nd chase start of career | DSLR 30 or less (and completed race LTO) | SP <9/1 = 20/46 | 43% S/R | +£49.24 – W&P 30/46 | 65% S/R – 65% above exp
…and it’s well worth keeping an eye on where this one appears next…
.
DUHALLOW TOMMY (Toby Lawes)
2nd in a Class 4 Handicap Chase – 3.05 Windsor (Sunday 15th Dec)
A solid run from the 6yo and he likely just bumped into a better handicapped type in the shape of the winner (who was only having his 2nd chase start)… this is the time of year he tends to come to life and he’s worth looking out for under the following…
Dec-March | G/S or softer | NOT RH tracks = 2211113 (4/7, 3p – all 4 career wins)
I’ll be back next Tuesday with the next installment of… ‘Three to follow from the weekend’…
